As Independence Day nears, we are feeling very patriotic at A-Team Carpet Clean. We would like to share our favorite red, white, and blue stain removals and color restorations that we’ve done over the years. Different techniques were used in removing each stain pictured below including stain removal, color restoration, and carpet repair.
You might be wondering what the difference is between stain removal and color restoration:
Stain Removal – Some stains can be removed by a professional carpet cleaning with an additional spot treatment applied to the stain before and after cleaning. Check out our blog to help hire a true professional, How to Hire a Good Carpet Cleaner.
Color Restoration – If your carpet has been discolored by a set-in stain or harsh chemical such as bleach, carpet color restoration can help you restore your carpet’s hue. Small spots treated with color restoration are very hard to detect, and the process is less expensive than replacing your entire carpet. Sometimes it may involve replacing a small section of the carpet with a new piece as seen in some of the color restoration pictures below.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move-out season is here for military families, which is typically from the end of May to the beginning of September because the military tends to try to have the families move after school is out for the summer. This can be an exciting time but also requires lots of planning to move out of your home and into another. Since we have Fort Sill Military Base in our city of Lawton, Oklahoma, we have the privilege of assisting military families with offering our deep cleaning services with their homes in preparation of moving out, so we’d like to pass on some tips that we’ve learned along the way.
Concerning deep-cleaning of your home and deposits, there are 2 different ways to go about the move out process with Corvias Military Living in Fort Sill Lawton, Oklahoma:
Option #1– A tenant does nothing and just has Corvias take care of everything related to cleaning and repairs before moving out for one lump sum. We do not know what their policy is in regards to giving deposits back or if they even have to put down a deposit when living on base, but we bring it up so tenants are aware to ask about deposit policies, especially with Voluntary Intra-Base Moves and Off-Post Moves where the service member is responsible for all costs related to moving.
Option #2 –If you choose to take care of the deep-cleaning process of your home in order to move out and ensure your deposit is returned, then follow this helpful checklist:
The tenant on Ft. Sill would get their PCS date.
Next they would schedule for a moving company to come and pack and/or get their belongings to be shipped to the new base.
Then the tenant would try to fix any damages accrued from pets, children, etc.
Then the tenant would perform what is called “a move out clean” on the property. For a complete list of what this entails, visit the Corvias Move-Out Guide.
Then after the “move out clean” is done, if needed the tenant would have A-Team Carpet Clean come out to the property to take care of multiple services for them with a military discount applied:
Clean floor tile and grout
Stretch the carpet if there are ripples in the carpet
Repair any damages to the carpet
Perform a Basic Cleaning or Deep Cleaning to all carpet in the house
Remove any red stains (RED REMOVAL PROCESS) that did not come out with the original cleaning & spot treatment
Dye (COLOR CORRECTION) any areas on the carpet that have been bleached out from cleaners or spills
Provide the tenant/customer with a receipt via email after payment
Make sure the tenant/customer is happy with their services
With the second option, the tenant can shop around for vendors and choose what they are going to spend for a service if the service is needed. We hope you find our PCS move-out season tips helpful. All of us at A-Team Carpet Clean would like to thank all active and retired military for their service to our country!

There are many blogs and articles about reasons why you should replace your carpet. We find that a few of these reasons can be fixed instead of replaced, which saves the homeowner lots of money! Here are 3 things you should consider hiring a professional to do first before paying a lot more to replace the carpet in an entire room or home.
Carpet Repair – So your carpet is ripped, burned, or bleached? Many professionals like us are able to repair a patch of your carpet to look like brand new again. Carpet repairs in Lawton, Oklahoma are incredibly more affordable than having new carpet installed. We recently saved this homeowner from replacing the carpet in a section of their home:
Deep-cleaning and/or Stain Removal – There are many times that carpet appears to be so dirty and stained that it can’t be saved. With the correct cleaning agents, equipment, and expertise, the right professional carpet cleaner will be able to deep clean your carpet back to new again! A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a recent job we did showing stain removal and carpet cleaning before and after results:
Pet Odor and Urine Stain Removal – One of the top reasons for replacing carpet in homes is odor, usually from pet stains. Dog urine stains and odors are very difficult to remove. As you can see from the image below, stains typically stay in your carpet even when it appears to be clean. Most professional carpet cleaners offer pet odor and stain removal services and/or DIY cleaning products. In order to remove urine stains and odor, it takes a different cleaning agent and a more vigorous cleaning process. Some pet stains are set in too deep for too long to remove them completely.
Hopefully these tips save you a little money now or in the future. If you have any questions concerning carpet services, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
Carpets take a lot of wear, tear, rips, and stains. Sometimes the damage is repairable, and other times it has to be replaced. You would be surprised at what a carpet repair or color restoration specialist can do to save your carpet. Carpet repair is a more affordable option than replacing your entire carpet, so check with a professional to see if your damage can be repaired. Here are some before and after pictures of carpet repair, carpet stretching, color restoration, and spot removal done by the specialists at A-Team Carpet Clean in Lawton, Oklahoma. Keep scrolling for some DIY carpet repair tips!
Never pull any strings and always cut with scissors or a razor.
If you see a tear in the carpet try to cover the area with a rug, runner, or anything so that it gets little foot traffic. This will slow down the rate that the fibers come loose from the primary backing.
Be careful when vaccuming because the rotary rollers can do more damage to the loose fibers.
If you are in need of professional carpet repair services, please check for carpet remnates in closets or attics with the same style and color of carpet. If none is avalabile a closet may be the next choice to remove carpet from. Most reputable carpet repair businesses such as A-Team Carpet Clean offer a replacement remnant for closets (one standard style and color which is not guaranteed to match carpet in closet).
Preparing your home for the fall season doesn’t have to be such a chore. We made a fall cleaning checklist that is broken down into different areas of…let’s say motivation. You can start with the Basic Cleaning – these things absolutely should be done when cleaning your house. The Deep Cleaning and Traditional Extras are recommended for a thorough house cleaning for cosmetic and health related reasons. So turn on some music and get your clean on!
Basic Cleaning(remember to work from top to bottom)
As a professional carpet cleaning company, A-Team Carpet Clean strives to try and remove every stain that may fall in your home. However not every stain is removable, regardless of what chemicals are used or how many times it is cleaned. Most stains are removeable, but if not properly treated quickly the carpet will leave a permanent stain. Since this is not common knowledge among our customers, we feel that education is necessary to avoid false expectations for cleaning results. This blog will inform you about carpet stains that absolutely cannot be removed at all or unless treated quickly, and the options for taking care of these permanent stain situations.
Stains That Cannot Be Removed
Important – Always read and follow the care instructions and any warnings provided by your carpet manufacturer. Rugs and carpets with natural fibers and/or certain dyes may require special treatment. If in doubt, contact a cleaning professional for advice and service.
If not treated quickly, the following items will leave stains in your carpet and cannot be removed by a professional cleaning company (much less DIY stain removal techniques) as they will permanently ALTER THE CARPET’S COLOR AND FIBER:
Acid toilet bowl cleaners
alkaline drain cleaners
chlorinated bleach (as pictured here)
mustard with turmeric
long term pet urine stains
The reason that certain chemicals will alter the carpet’s color and fiber is that nylon has dye sites that take color, much like human hair. Along with synthetic fibers that are colored, carpet is also made up of plastic which is made from products similar to plastic water bottles that can be easily physically altered by the wrong chemicals. Call a professional to assess your stains for potential removal or to see if bonded insert services are needed. Most likely the only solution is to insert carpet from a closet, or some other area into the area where the spot is cut out (as seen in this before and after picture).
Professional Stain Removal & Cleaning Benefits
Your best bet to save your carpet is to call a professional carpet cleaner immediately before trying to get the stain out with the thousands of DIY techniques you can find on the internet these days. Some of the DIY techniques will damage your carpet even further, requiring it to be removed when it could have been cleaned properly by a professional with the correct chemicals and cleaning techniques. Carpet cleaning services are much more affordable than bonded insert or complete replacement! We see this scenario play out so many times, so please know that it will save you money in the long run to call a professional before trying to remove stains yourself.
